This Thanksgiving Avoid The Diets

I see it  every year, challenge groups, gyms and people all over that think they need to cleanse after their Thanksgiving feast. I see headlines like "Avoid weight gain this holiday season" "Don't be a turkey, get your workouts in", "Join me for my 3 days juice cleanse the Monday after Thanksgiving." The silver platter that hand delivers eating disorders and body image issues to the American people.

Have you ever had a stress free Holiday season where you were excited that your family was coming to visit for a long weekend? Were you ever excited about family football in the front yard and yummy food that followed after? What about the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade, were you excited about that?

Think back to when that shift changed. When did you start stressing more about all the calories you were going to eat? When did you start saying i'll just blow it Thursday through Sunday and than restrict myself Monday to lose all the weight? Surely it wasn't when you were a child and all you cared about was family, happiness and the excitement of the Holidays.
